Rotary Tree of Remembrance on UCC Campus
A firm Cork Christmas tradition - the Rotary Tree of Remembrance on Patrick Street, is being extended to UCC Campus.
The UCC Entrepreneurial & Social Society spearheaded the move to invite the Bishopstown Rotary Club to erect a Tree of Remembrance on campus. The Remembrance Tree Project aims to both capture the essence of the Christmas spirit and also provide a simple yet poignant way of remembering loved ones amid the hustle and bustle of the Christmas season.
All the proceeds from the Tree of Remembrance on UCC Campus will go to Cork Simon Community in support of people who are homeless.
The President of UCC, Dr. Michael Murphy, speaking at the launch of the project on campus said he hoped it would become a Christmas tradition on UCC Campus.
Pictured at the launch of the Rotary Tree of Remembrance on UCC Campus are Jane Ronayne - Auditor of the UCC Entrepreneurial & Social Society, Dave Ronayne - Chair of Cork Simon Community's Board of Directors, and Dr. Michael Murphy - President of UCC.
The Bishopstown Rotary Tree of Remembrance will remain on UCC Campus until Christmas Eve.
