Cork Simon Community currently has the following vacancies:

Administrative Assistant (National Internship Scheme)
The Administrative Assistant will work to the Cork Simon Fundraising Strategy and as a member of the Fundraising team; and will support the Fundraising Team to achieve income targets. 

This is a full time (35 hours per week), unpaid internship that will last for 9 months.

The Administrative Assistant duties will include:
o Accurately recording donations
o Maintaining excellent donor records
Organising mailings as directed by the Individual Giving Fundraiser
o Monitoring the success of Facebook and Adwords campaigns
o Working with the Fundraising Assistant in helping to organise permits, and deliveries and collections of collection tins etc. to church gate collectors and flag day collection points
o Assisting the Fundraising Assistant with other community events as requested i.e. Streetsmart, Sing for Simon etc
o Provide administration support in the Fundraising Office.

The Administrative Assistant will work as part of the Fundraising team and will receive regular one-to-one support and supervision/mentoring. Training will be provided, as required.

Candidates should have:

Organisational and administrative skills
o Excellent computer skills
o Excellent boundaries, confidentiality and discretion

Cork Simon Community has vacancies for the following part-time posts on our FAS Community Employment Programme (CE):


1. Housekeeping Assistant – Shelter
The objective of the Housekeeping Assistant (Shelter) is to carry out cleaning, kitchen, laundry and other housekeeping duties in the Shelter as scheduled on weekly rota. The Housekeeping Assistant will be based in the Emergency Shelter, Anderson’s Quay, Cork.

Some of the key tasks involved in the role are as follows:
- Participate in a rota of cleaning duties for shelter (including: cleaning bathrooms, bedrooms, buffing floors, hallways and communal rooms; general cleaning of shelter building)
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness, comfort and hygiene in communal areas and in individual rooms
- Maintain the efficient running of the laundry and stores (duties include operation of industrial washers and dryers, use of detergents and bleach, collection and handling of used blankets and bed linen, folding and storage of clean laundry.)
- Kitchen work: Handling, storage, moving and preparation of large food stocks (for up to 160 meals per day.) Working within HACCP framework (cleaning, storage, preparation, packing and serving of food, following kitchen hygiene and safety standards, etc.)


2. Maintenance Assistant
The objective of the Maintenance Assistant is to assist in maintaining a good state of repair and decoration for Emergency, Day and Outreach projects on the premises of Anderson’s Quay, with occasional focus on assisting with work in Mill House and Riverview apartments (also located on the premises). Some of the key tasks involved in the role are as follows:
 - Maintain standards by way of maintenance, repair, painting & décor of interiors of Cork  Simon properties
 - Repairs to doors, door locks, glazed panels and other fittings etc., as required
 - General repairs including minor repairs to furniture items etc.
