Part-time volunteers are active in everything Cork Simon does, from sitting on our Board of Directors to helping us to fundraise to supporting people to develop life skills such as cooking, literacy and numeracy.

    50 years of Cork Simon

    Anton Wallich-Clifford, a probation officer working in London in the fifties and sixties, founded the Simon Community in London. He travelled to Cork in 1971 to help found Cork Simon Community. A small group of volunteers immediately started a regular count of the number of people sleeping rough and established a nightly Soup Run - a service that continues to operate to this day.
