Project Support Worker (Polish Speaker) - Permanent Contract
Purpose of this post: Cork Simon Community is currently seeking a compassionate and motivated Polish-speaking Project Support Worker to join our dedicated team. In this rewarding position, you will provide emergency accommodation and support for adults affected by homelessness. You will play a vital role in implementing care plans and promoting independent living skills, especially among residents from Eastern and Central Europe.
Your work will be guided by Cork Simon values and important models of care such as Trauma-Informed Practice and Harm Reduction. This is a fantastic opportunity for continued learning and professional development, with ongoing support from your supervisor and line manager.
Some of the key duties of the role include:
- Initial Contact and Support: Assess immediate needs upon first contact, record basic information, and refer to relevant services where necessary.
- Emergency Accommodation: Assist with admissions to the shelter, provide a welcoming environment, and ensure health and safety procedures are followed.
- Daily Living Support: Help residents with personal hygiene, meals, managing medication, and maintaining clean accommodation.
- Relationship Building: Develop trusting relationships with residents, challenge them positively, and motivate them to make changes at their own pace.
- Advocacy: Act as an advocate for residents, particularly those from Polish-speaking or Eastern European backgrounds, and assist with Habitual Residence Condition applications or appeals.
- Social and Educational Activities: Assist in implementing social activities and encourage residents to access education, training, and work opportunities.
- Care Plan Implementation: Work with Team Leaders and Project Workers to support the implementation of agreed care plans and harm reduction programmes.
- Health and Safety: Conduct regular checks and follow health and safety procedures to ensure a safe and secure environment.
- Community Engagement: Foster positive relationships with neighbours and the local community, encouraging involvement and support for the project.
- Administrative Duties: Maintain accurate records, manage residents’ contributions, and produce high-quality reports.
The ideal candidate for this post will have:
Experience:
- Previous experience in a care setting is essential.
Skills and Attributes:
- Language Skills: Fluent in Polish and English (both written and verbal).
- Knowledge: Understanding of homelessness, mental health, substance misuse, and related responses.
- Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, excellent written and numeric abilities, and a demonstrated ability to motivate and empower people.

Housing First Project Worker (Co.Kerry) - Permanent Contract
Purpose of this post: Support people who are sleeping rough and/or experiencing long-term and multiple exclusion homelessness to move into secure, permanent housing at the earliest opportunity, without preconditions for sobriety or treatment compliance. Support people prior to, during, and following their move through Key Working and Case Management to build their capacity to meet their goals, address their support needs, and sustain their housing.
Some of the key duties of the role include:
- Identify and engage with individuals experiencing homelessness in County Kerry.
- Assess housing options and facilitate access to suitable accommodation.
- Develop and implement support plans tailored to individual needs.
- Provide intensive case management and ongoing support to tenants.
- Advocate for tenants’ rights and address any issues that may threaten housing stability.
- Assist with induction to accommodation and familiarize tenants with their rights and responsibilities.
- Manage finances, including addressing rent arrears and ensuring access to benefits.
- Maintain accurate records and generate required statistics for reporting purposes.
- Collaborate with team members and external agencies to achieve project objectives.
- Adhere to health and safety regulations and participate in relevant training.
- Report to and seek guidance from the Team Leader of the South West Region Housing First.
The ideal candidate for this post will have:
Experience:
- Two years’ experience in a similar role.
- Experience of case management and key working.
- Experience working with people with addictions including those with mental health issues / dual diagnosis.
Skills and Attributes:
- Non-judgemental understanding of addiction.
- Belief in the potential of recovery for people of diverse backgrounds, challenges and personal circumstances.

Housing First Project Worker (South East Region) - Permanent Contract
Purpose of this post: South East Simon is currently seeking a Housing First Project worker to join our dedicated team. As a Housing First Project Worker, you will play a key role in assisting individuals in moving from homelessness into secure housing and ensuring they have the support needed to maintain their tenancies
Some of the key duties of the role include:
- Engagement & Outreach: Establish and maintain contact with people experiencing homelessness in Waterford, collaborating with outreach teams and emergency accommodation services.
- Assessment & Housing Support: Evaluate housing needs and facilitate access to local authority housing supports, including HAP/RAS and social welfare payments.
- Case Management & Support Planning: Develop and review individual support plans tailored to each tenant’s needs and goals.
- Tenancy Management: Liaise with landlords, explain lease agreements, rights and responsibilities, and assist in crisis management.
- Life Skills & Recovery Support: Help individuals build skills for independent living, including budgeting, healthy living, and personal care.
The ideal candidate for this post will have:
Experience:
- At least two years of experience working in a similar role, particularly with individuals experiencing homelessness or addiction.
- Experience in case management and key working, with a focus on harm reduction and recovery-oriented support.
Skills and Competencies
- A non-judgmental, compassionate approach and belief in the potential for recovery.
- Excellent communication, advocacy, and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of addiction, mental health, and housing support systems.
Qualifications

Partnerships Support Officer - Permanent Contract
Purpose of this post: Cork Simon is currently seeking a Partnerships Support Officer to join our dedicated team. As a Partnerships Support Officer, you will play a pivotal role in supporting Cork & Southeast Simon’s Corporate and Community Fundraising activities. You will ensure excellent donor care, coordinate logistics for events and campaigns, and support strong, long-term relationships with our donors, fundraisers, volunteers, and partners.
You will work closely with the Senior Corporate Partnerships Officer, the Senior Community Partnerships Officer, and report to the Head of Partnerships.
Some of the key duties of the role include:
- Donor Care: Provide excellent donor care by responding to queries, maintaining accurate donor records, acknowledging contributions, and implementing donor journeys.
- Administration: Fulfil the administrative requirements of partnerships activities, ensuring compliance with policies, GDPR, and fundraising guidelines.
- Coordination & Logistics: Organise materials, stock, and logistics for donor engagement activities, fundraising events, and campaigns.
- Relationship Building: Maintain long-term relationships with donors, volunteers, and fundraisers, acting as a first point of contact for new and prospective supporters.
- Teamwork: Collaborate with colleagues across the Partnerships Team, Fundraising Department, and wider Simon Community to achieve fundraising objectives.
The ideal candidate for this post will have:
Experience:
- Minimum 2 years in fundraising, customer service, administration, project coordination, sales, or marketing.
Skills and Attributes:
- Strong customer service and relationship-building skills, excellent administration and organisational skills, attention to detail, numeracy, IT and CRM/database skills, and confidence on the phone.
- Team-focused, flexible, accurate, solution-oriented, with initiative and ownership of workload.
Desirable:
Salesforce CRM experience, third-level qualification, experience in fundraising or voluntary sector, knowledge of financial systems, homelessness, or social issues.
Other:
- Leaving Certificate, full driving licence, and access to a car.
