“I left home when I was 16. I’ve been rearing myself on the street for a very long time. I’ve had a very hard life. It hasn’t been easy at all. But I got through it.
I’ve a beautiful mother and grandmother. But my father was a violent alcoholic. To this day I don’t speak to that man. I had to get away and do my own thing. So I’ve been on the street and in hostels ever since (over 25 years).
I went to a house for homeless girls. I was there a long, long time. I’ve been institutionalised all my life. I wouldn’t know what it is like to live independently on my own. I dunno what it’s like to live out in the real world.
