Senior Corporate Partnerships Officer

Purpose of this post: The Senior Corporate Partnerships Officer will play a key role in delivering the corporate fundraising element of Cork Simon Community’s Fundraising Strategy across both Cork and Southeast Simon Communities. The postholder will build on a strong base of warm corporate supporters while developing new partnerships that align with the organisation’s mission to support people experiencing homelessness.

The successful candidate will lead on the Corporate Partnerships Programme, developing and implementing engagement plans and working closely with colleagues across Services, Communications and Volunteering, as well as key external stakeholders in the region.

The ideal candidate for this post will have:

  • Will be a relationship-focused professional with experience developing and managing partnerships or client relationships and a proven ability to work to and achieve targets.
  • They will bring excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills, along with strong organisational and problem-solving abilities.

Addiction Counsellor - 2-Year Fixed Term Contract (Secondment to the HSE)

Purpose of this post: Cork Simon Community are seeking a skilled and compassionate Addiction Counsellor to join our team. You will be seconded to the Primary Care Drug and Alcohol Services, Cork Kerry Community Healthcare. Based initially at Arbour House, Douglas Road, Cork, you will work as part of the HSE Adult Homeless Integrated Team (AHIT), providing therapeutic interventions to members of the homeless population.

Some of the key duties of the role include:

Clinical Practice:

  • Conduct assessments based on national protocols.
  • Deliver individual and group counselling using evidence-based approaches such as person-centred and cognitive-behavioural therapies.
  • Manage a diverse caseload under supervision, creating and implementing personalised care plans.
  • Collaborate with GPs, multidisciplinary teams, and community organisations to provide holistic support.

Support for the Homeless Community:

  • Work with service users from homeless backgrounds, addressing substance use, trauma, and related issues.
  • Provide pre-treatment, stabilisation, and relapse prevention support.
  • Facilitate referrals to detoxification and rehabilitation services as needed.

Professional Development:

  • Engage in regular clinical supervision, in-service training, and continuous professional development.
  • Participate in developing new community-based initiatives and care models.

Administrative Duties:

  • Maintain accurate and confidential clinical records.
  • Provide detailed reports and activity data, adhering to ethical standards and HSE policies.

The ideal candidate for this post will have:

Experience:

  • Minimum two years of experience in addiction counselling or substance misuse treatment.
  • Experience managing caseloads and providing short-term therapy.

Skills and Attributes:

  • Proficiency in evidence-based therapeutic techniques.
  • Strong case management, care planning, and advocacy skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities, with a focus on trauma-informed care.

Qualifications:

  • Level 7 or higher degree in Medicine, Nursing, or a relevant Health & Social Care profession (e.g., Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy).
  • Accreditation as an Addiction Counsellor with Addiction Counsellors of Ireland (ACI) or equivalent.

Additional Requirements:

  • Access to transport and flexibility to work unsociable hours when needed.

Social Integration Outreach Support Worker

Purpose of this post: Cork Simon Community are currently seeking a committed and skilled Social Integration Outreach Support Worker to expand the capacity of our Education, Training and Employment Service.

The purpose of this role is to assertively engage with individuals within the homeless population who have a known history of, or risk factors for, offending behaviour. Through structured education, training, and employment interventions, the role aims to divert individuals away from criminal activity and support them to build stable, meaningful, and sustainable lives within the community.

Some of the key duties of the role include:

  • Assertively engage with those among homeless population who are identified as having a history of criminal involvement and/or risk factors for reoffending.
  • Liaise with other agencies involved in the provision of homeless services and working with those at-risk of (re)-offending to identify those most in need of intervention and engage with them to identify the most appropriate education, training, or employment pathway.
  • Conduct assessments, including risk assessments, and registrations at the point of referral.
  • Support the individual to move away from offending behaviour towards a life in recovery.
  • Support and develop an individual learning plan for each individual to help them set achievable goals in their personal development plans.
  • Facilitate pathways to appropriate support services.
  • Develop, coordinate and oversee education opportunities, work related training programmes, work placements and employment opportunities. Facilitate access to these by residents and tenants of Cork Simon Community, and others within the homeless population in Cork.

The ideal candidate for this post will have:

Experience:

  • A minimum of 3 years experience of working with the Target Group or similar groups.
  • Have experience working with people who have been imprisoned and/or people with addiction, trauma and/or poor mental health in their life.
  • Have experience/ qualifications in youth work, social care or equivalent, and have training in child protection, suicide intervention and trauma sensitivity.

Skills and Attributes:

  • Have excellent communication skills, competent in both networking and advocacy, and be a team player,

Qualifications:

  • A recognised third level practice qualification (minimum Level 7 on the NFQ) in one of the following: Education/ Community Development/ Social Care/ Social Work/ Youth Work/ or similar.

Additional Requirements:

  • Full clean driving license with access to own vehicle
  • The role is primarily based in our training facility in Cork City but travel will be required.

Project Support Worker and Night Worker

Purpose of this post: Cork Simon Community are currently seeking a Project Support Worker and Night Worker.

The purpose of this role is to maintain an environment where residents feel accepted, respected, secure and valued. To empower residents and maximises their independence and ability to move on to a more independent living option as appropriate. The Project Support Workers and Night Workers will work with Team Leaders, key workers/ case managers and specialist team members to implement care/support plans and help residents achieve their goals.

Some of the key duties of the role include:

  • Initial Contact: Welcome and support individuals accessing the Day Centre; identify immediate needs; refer to appropriate services
  • Care Support: Facilitate access to meals, showers, laundry, and clean clothing
  • Admin & Records: Maintain accurate records of service use, substance misuse data, and referrals using systems like PASS and InForm
  • Statistics & Reports: Generate reports to support service planning and funding; assist in gathering data on drug/alcohol use, referrals, and care outcomes
  • Finance Support: Handle petty cash, record client funds, and track transactions
  • Service Delivery: Support Day Centre operations; ensure high hygiene and safety standards; assist with resident inductions and basic health & safety procedures.
  • Client Engagement: Build respectful relationships with people using the service; encourage engagement with healthcare, mental health, and addiction supports.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with Team Leaders, Project Workers, outreach teams, and external agencies

The ideal candidate for this post will have:

Experience:

  • Experience with data entry or administrative tasks.
  • Experience in a care/support setting.

Skills and Attributes:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent numeric, written, and IT skills.
  • Ability to manage challenging behaviours and work under pressure.
  • Understanding of confidentiality, boundaries, and client-led support.
  • Commitment to social justice and Cork Simon’s values.
